At the sound of Elizabeth's "What!" Giles, her tutor, who was walking past the entrance to the garden in search of his student turned sharply; his long nose pointing the way like a hunting dog. He immediately started through the grass and flowering shrubs toward her. Just as The Countess and Dorothia had took notice of the shrill sound of surprise, Giles was looming over her. "M'lady, art thou avoiding thy studies again? Ye knowest well that thy lord the Baron shant be happy with this." He said looking down his sloping nose at her. She looked up while laying on her back. Giles was just a dark silhouette with a goofy looking hat against the afternoon sun. She stood and turned with the Ladies Latitia and Dorothia looking on a short ways off. Elizabeth, just lowered her head and followed Giles back inside the stuffy corridors of Karloff Hall. Not that she was able to focus on he studies, all of her thoughts were centered on this suitor. "Who is Sir Dennis?" This thought just looped through her head over and over again.

Meanwhile atop the battlements of the outer wall Sir John and the Earl of Northfeld are discussing the matter of suitors for the now maid Elizabeth. Sir Didymous had brought up the young Sir Dennis and Sir John said "Me thinks Sir Dennis wouldst be the perfect suitor for Lady Elizabeth! Aye she is quite stubborn and contrary to mine idea for a suitor but, she dust not reply upon the subject!i grow impatient with her! If she dust not give me an answer I shall be forced to marry her to Fredrick Laystone!"

Sir Didymous then reminded the Baron that Fredrick is now a novice of the local Augustinians and is therefore no longer an option. The two continued their casual stroll and kept talking about the possibility of a feast at Karloff Hall to introduce the somewhat shy Elizabeth to the court.

Latitia relays to the Lady dorothia, "My opion is that she is getting perty old to more be married still. The only reason I old was because there where no one on the ilse. That my father would agree too marry me low for. Thous as soon as anoffer from a repectable and hight enough sanding man, he jumped to it. Thost I'm a LaRoth now." She smiled to her and said more, "But I couts not ask for a better mach, for my father trust in God. God mached me up with a great man. Though he can be a subern fool at times. Well men can't be perfect so atless he is not the kind that beats his properdy and also does not see thee as just properdy to use as desier."

The sun was beating hard down on an oddly bright day and the time for food was fast approaching. Sir John and Sir Didymous were leaning against one of the battlements atop the south-facing gatehouse watching the peasants go about their life. Sir John was going on and on about the same stories that Didymous had heard a thousand times, and each time the details seemed to get less clear. "In sooth Sir John" Sir Didymous interrupted; "I do think that we need to add a tournament to that feast we spoke of. If for no more reason than to give thee new stories." "But 'twould be a great expense M'lord." Sir John replied barely noticing the insult The Earl had just sent his way. "Aye, true enough; but 'twould be worth the coin to hear thee tell of something more than Moorish pike walls. Howe'er, the feast would needs be moved to Northfeld Castle to give the space for the tournament."
About that time a scruffy looking page showed up bowing deeply to the Baron and the Earl. "M'lord Northfeld an-an-and" The boy, winded from the run up to the top of the gatehouse, tried to speak and be as proper as he could, having never spoken to an Earl before and only silently serving the Baron's house. "Well, have out with it boy." Sir John said impatiently. The page continued without raising his head, "And M'lord Sir John, Thy ladies would like you to take meat with them in the garden."

The festivities are set to happen in August to help insure the best weather possible in their region. Though the date is far off, the preparations need to begin early. The guest list needs to be assembled and the invitations need to be sent out. Of course all of the neighbors and vassals of the Lord of Northfeld are on the list, but at the very top is every member of his Order of the Rouse clan. The men folk start setting up the details as to the events and the women begin the harder task of organizing evening activities and meals. This will be a three day event, and will cost an arm and a leg. Sir Didymous, however, is willing to spare no expense to have a tourney and build an advantageous marriage for the ward of his friend and brother in arms Sir John. The Barons and Earl are all being fitted for a new suit of clothes and trappings for the tourney. And their women are going through much the same ordeal. There is nothing like being the most imposing man at the table or in the list; and if by any chance you can be both, all the better. Sir Didymous even commissioned new livery for his servants. This will be a celebration not to be believed considering that it is seemingly for no apparent reason.
