As a response to repeated request from various people, fans and members of the order alike, I have started the early stages of "The Booke of the Order". This will be a several volume work done loosely in the format of the ancient Celtic story cycles that tells the story of the formation and role of the Most Noble Order of the Rouse Clan in the late 13th and early 14th centuries through the lives of it's members. Any actual order member who wants their character included will need to contact me. Proper acknowledgments will be made as to the creator of each character. Any ideas on the events that could be included will be most welcomed. This will be the official discussion thread for any ideas, questions, or details. Since the main characters will be those of the Order's full members any story modifications should be covered here with that person. Each of the major characters will have there own volume, and will include parallels to the others to create the intermingled story.

I would be honoured if my character of Frere Reynald de Pensax could be included in The Booke of the Order.

I would be happy to include him good sir, if you could send me a rough time line of Reynald's life, we should be able to work him in with no issues. Upon doing some research, I feel that a good climax to the story would be the Baronial revolts of 1312 under Edward II. It would help to show how some of the loyal Barons and veterans of the Scotch rebellions under Edward I were drove to the point of rebelling themselves. I find that time particularly interesting.

Ooh now you've pushed some buttons Sir Didymous! Extending the story of the Order into the reign of Edward II: that will be a very interesting project! I too find the period fascinating both in terms of the politics, the personalities and on an aesthetic level, the changing fashions and evolving technology in armour design. At Ashby our timeline was Edward II's reign and the scope for discussion that this opened up was incredible. I'd have loved to have got a photo of Lord Zouche as his vambraces and sabatons were of scale construction. I actually ended up having to play Edward for the children's re-enactment of Bannockburn, and while I got loads of stick from my oldest re-enactment friend Malcolm, I really enjoyed the role. I played him as an effete snob with comments like, 'Men be so good as to raise our battle-cry: we're not afraid of the skirt-wearing Scots!' and 'I say, would you mind awfully drawing up our archers?' and ' Men, we shall now demonstrate our contempt for the Scottish rabble by pointedly ignoring their lack of manners!' It also gave me the opportunity to throw loads of hissy fits, like when I stamped on Robert the Bruce's foot in revenge for my ignominious defeat - which the Scalachronicon asserts did actually happen...honestly!

but now i dont know if that is far enough becuase some might want more and then you could also work on the younger gen. to show what happens and then because you are working on varry accurit hisorical points that you could just keep going though the hishory of the world if so you proble could go back words too

The furthest I intend to go back is the events surrounding the birth of the would be members. The Order is the uniting factor and if I stray too far from it, then I feel it would be a failure.

If you have writers block you could just pop out a children's book or two. Because with all the work to go in to the Books of the order you could use some of your other ideas and thoughts that you had and work them in to the kid book kind. Oh and i think that the tittles should be "Books of the Order" and then as a secondary tittle it would be their name like "Sir Didymous LaRoth" you know i think that would be a great way to do it
