Here are the various images that helped to inspire more than a few aspects of the visual elements related to Sir Didymous The Red knight which is a reoccurring theme in Arthurian legend, and as depicted symbolically in "The Fisher King" is easily the most terrifying knight I have ever seen. If I can emulate one ounce of this intimidation, I would be happy. My current suit of gear is under paintwork and I'm getting some ostrich plumes, between the two it is going to be something to behold. This image is also why in part, I do very little to diminish the battle used look of my weapons. The Goblin knights from the movie "The Labyrinth" are what introduced me to painted armor in the first pace. The idea of standing out in a pack of equals has always been paramount for the insecure Didymous. In Durer's The Knight, the Devil, and Death showed me an aspect of a brave knight that I wish to portray. The kind that simply passes by all obstacles intent on the task at hand. Many see Didymous as an inconsiderate jerk, but he is really just highly task oriented.

I really like the way that your persona's appearance has been inspired by some imaginative sources. People sometimes forget that medieval artists loved to let their imaginations have free reign when depicting costume and armour. I also like the way you've tried to capture the essence of characters like the Red Knight. I've always stressed that armour is not only meant to protect its wearer, but to make the person look more formidable as well: that's half the battle. After all, your opponent is at a disadvantage from the outset if he is unsettled by your imposing or frightening appearance.

With some of my characters I've had more latitude than others when creating their look. I've always tried to be authentic, but I've also tried to push the boundaries and introduce elements that come as a surprise to many, but are nonetheless accurate, or a reasonable interpretation of the historical evidence. For example; my Templar personas incorporate some unusual shield designs, yet it's surprising how many people still instantly recognize me as a Templar. I'm pleased to say that this approach has attracted a lot of positive interest from both members of the public and other re-enactors. At one mixed show, there were a group of G Is, and they spent most of the day photographing us! Having said that, I am inspired by Victorian engravings of medieval subjects; like those to be found in Ward Lock's 'British Battles on Land and Sea'. They aren't always accurately detailed, but I love the spirit of boys' own adventure with which they are executed. I also adore the work of artists like Richard Courtenay and his heir, Peter Greenhill. I'd like to think that I capture some of the charm of their beautiful miniature knights in the look of my personas.

Well my husband would say that i have a lot to be influenced by sailor moon for my persona and actually the real culprit on how my persona is like is because of Xena the warrior Princes and then it was a bit of Sailor Jupiter out of Sailor Moon though. but my parents are from power ranger wild force set. I had to laugh when I showed him the series. Xena Sailor Jupiter

This weekend I'll be doing an event at a local battlefield visitor centre where I shall be adopting the persona of Sir Brian le Jay, the notorious Templar Master of England who was slain at the Battle of Falkirk in 1298. Tales of Jay's belligerence all post-date his death, in some cases by several decades; and in the infamous Christiane of Esperton episode, his savage behaviour, which reportedly included mutilation and murder, just seems too fantastical. Yet confessions by Templar brethren the time of their arrest do have a certain ring of truth about them; and they give a picture of a man who was definitely at the back of the queue when charm was being handed out. Thus I have made some additions to my kit to emphasize the menacing side of Le Jay 'cos there's nothing like playing an over-the-top villain! This includes a new crest for my great helm which I have based on the Templecombe Panel. It depicts the head of St. John the Baptist, which also appeared on some Templar seals; and which was probably the basis of the accusations that the Templars worshipped a Baphomet head-idol. Consequently, inspired by some of the descriptions that the Templars gave of this legendary idol, I've painted my crest per pale argent and sable. Combined with my new great sword, I'm hoping to create quite an impression this weekend. Attachments:

Some may understand fully why I picked my first name Christ Ella. Because of our Lord Jesus. My last name Cogs worth comes from the clock off of beauty and the beast. Because like the character he can be lovable and also very straight forward .
