Due to some up coming venues, I have had to create a couple new personae. One is a comedic personage of Sir Glaston of Eatinbeef. He was created as an opening act to introduce the new Veggie Tales Robin Hood movie at a Salvation Army outreach program. He's the guy who didn't get a part in the movie.
And the second is a 17th century Scottish Highland raider. The name for this character is Calin Ferguson (a clan from which I am actually a descendant). He has been created for a short Highland festival for Boy scouts in the North Baltimore area. Our own Dame Latitia and Sir Wulfscyld are also creating characters for this event. And Latitia is also working on one for the SA event mentioned above. I hope they feel free to chime in on their progress on their new personae.

I've just started working on another new persona, but if I'm honest I'm cheating a little. For the past couple of years I've been building up my Hundred Years' War kit; and I'm happy now with it. My primary character for this period is a Breton knight, Sir Jean de Rousselot, who fought in the Combat of the Thirty. I'm currently writing a book about the subject, and photos of my kit will be used to illustrate the chapter on the arms and armour that would have been used in the Combat. However, I've decided to create a secondary persona who is going to be based on the Castellan of Amposta who fought on the French side at the Battle of Poitiers in 1356. Although he was a member of one of the Military Orders who were not supposed to get involved in politics, by the mid 14th century, these organisations were becomming increasingly secularized. Thus I'm imagining one of the officers of the Order of St. Lazarus of the same period getting embroiled in the Anglo-French conflict. After the fall of the Latin East, the Lazarites moved their headquarters to Boigny in France and became more closely associated with the French monarchy than the Papacy; so it's a credible scenario that the senior ranks of the Order might be inclined to take sides. All I really need to do is to make myself a suitable coat armour; and I'm opting for a cyclas, which because of the increasing secularization of the Lazarites is going to be adorned with the knight's personal arms as well as that of the Order. I'm even thinking of continuing the history of the de Roncenay clan by making him a son of Sir Berenguer. I shall be posting some photos as things progress.

I have recently decided to create a character that's on hte opposite side of the conflict I normally portray. I have decided to use the name Kael MacFergus, which is the earlier version of the name for my 17th C. highland persona. In the stories that build up in our group involving our characters he is a distant relative of the Fergusons of the Northfeld area. He is imagined as being more of an early 14th century character whereas our group is currently in 1299. I modeled his look as being a slightly more southern version of a depiction on a highland grave slab.

Lookin' good! I've always been drawn to the famous series of Highland grave slabs upon which you've based your look. I like naivity of the carving.
